All ESA claimants must read this...

In the Summer 2015 Budget the Government announced a reduction in benefit for the work-related activity group of employment and support allowance.

What this means is that from April 2017, new claimants who are placed in the work-related activity group will receive the same rate of benefit as those claiming jobseeker's allowance, alongside additional support to help them take steps back to work.

So if you claim ESA after April 2017 and are not placed in the Support Group your ESA will be paid at the same rate as JSA.

We have a 75% success rate getting claimants into the support group!

If you are taken off ESA after a failed assessment or appeal and claim again then after April 2017 you will be affected by this new rule.

Even more reason to get our help with your claim form, your assessment and any appeal to ensure you stay on the maximum rate of ESA. Don't wait, contact us for advice.

Already in the ESA support group?

Many people who have been moved from the old Incapacity Benefit to ESA are being underpaid through no fault of their own. We have seen cases where people have been told they are not entitled to income related ESA when in fact they are. Other people in the support group are not being paid an extra premium with their ESA.

You, the unsuspecting claimant knows nothing about this as you assume the amount you are paid is correct and have no means to check the figures. There may be thousands of people nationwide who have been underpaid or not paid what they are rightfully due ... and you could be one of them!

"I used your sample for ESA for CFS and was awarded it for 2 Years." E.M.

Claiming benefits usually involves completing a lengthy claim form. The answers you give go a long way to deciding if you get the benefit but there may be a face to face assessment before the decision is made. It is vital to get the form right and worded in the correct way. A Tribunal Judge recently wrote in his explanation for a decision: "In the claim pack Mr B did not reply to the question asking him how far he can normally walk." Need we say more?
